Meet Stacey Braffett, LCSW-R

LICENSED PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Stacey is the lead therapist and clinical supervisor at The Analytic Hour and brings over 20 years of experience to the practice.

Stacey also works at the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health (MCMH) where she is responsible for coordinating, interviewing, and hiring student interns. In addition to seeing patients, she also runs weekly didactic process groups.

Stacey enjoys working with teens, adults and couples.  She specializes in helping people who are struggling with relationship concerns, job issues, eating disorders, compulsions or obsessive behaviors, trauma and sexual abuse.

Stacey also specializes in helping young adults better cope with life stressors, parenting concerns, performance anxiety, and navigating major life transitions.

Stacey’s professional experience has ranged from outpatient care and partial hospital programs to acute inpatient work. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist she worked for more than twenty years in human resources in the financial services sector. Stacey has extensive experience with “quality of life issues” both at home, and in the workplace, and understands the challenges individuals face as they “juggle” the multiple roles in their lives.

Stacey is very committed to education and professional training.

She is a supervisor for staff therapists at MCMH, an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University – Silver School of Social Work, and a field instructor for social work student interns at the clinic.  Stacey is also on the faculty at the Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.  

Stacey holds a bachelors degree in psychology from Washington University and a masters degree in clinical social work from Columbia University.
